“The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.” Psalm 19:7
I’ve heard many people say that reading the Bible will eventually make you crazy. I don’t really know where they got that. When I was in elementary, most of my classmates would often tell me, “you’re too much a saint for us already, Ive!” Bible reading has been taught to me ever since I can remember, and I’m very thankful to have part of my childhood dedicated to that task. Now that I’m old, I am corrected of my bad attitudes and habits because of the verses I have come across over the years. Yes, i’ve read them again and again, but each day brings about a new promise and a new learning from the same words.
God’s testimony is His word, the Bible. Everything written in it is inspired and God-breathed. It speaks of His character, His power, His instructions, and His sovereignty over everything. His word is definitely alive and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword. When He speaks to me, He cuts and tears down every possible blanket of sin to fully unveil it in broad daylight. The truth hurts, yes, but it is just what we need if we want to live a victorious kind of life.
May it be our prayer to not withhold ourselves from being engrossed into God’s Word. It will surely give us the right kind of wisdom, heavenly wisdom, we need in order to do the things we really need to do.
