In today’s employment setting, most jobs are pretty much easy to do. With the assistance of high technology, everything is practically within the reach of our fingertips. But don’t let this easiness mkae you complacent, though. No matter what profession we are in – a banker, a carpenter, a teacher, and even as simple as being a housewife – God looks at our work as something valuable, honorable, and practical.
The Bible says, “You shall work six days, but on the secenth day you shall rest” Exodus34:21, NASB. Sometimes we like to omit the first part when our laziness gets the better of us. Yet God commanded us that we are to work not only to provide for our needs and our family’s, but furthermore to give Him glory. Your work matters to Him.
Whether you log on or lace up for the day, you imitate God. Jehovah Himself worked for the first six days of creation. Jesus said, “My Father never stops working, and so I keep working, too.”
