Hebrews 10:39 KJV
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
Ever wondered why so many infomercials, radio ads, tabloids, and other forms of media keep on advertising the idea of Freedom? “You can be what you want to be”. “You have the right. ” “Nothing and no one will stop you. ” These are just a few of the ideals they religiously throw at us every single day. Got a clue? Choice. One word, yet it holds so much power and that ‘Freedom’ we’ve always wanted. Because in so many aspects of our lives we are given no choice, they want us to believe that we can decide independently.
We didn’t choose our gender, our physical appearance, our siblings, our place of birth. Sometimes our lack of choices angers us. [Max Lucado]
But God has given us the privilege to choose where we spend our eternity. He has given us the option to choose between Him and ourselves. He doesn’t beg for you to pick Him. He allows us, through freewill, to decide whether or not we want to make Him our destiny. This is one area where we should be thankful we are given such freedom. Most people don’t get to live to make such a choice.
I pray that we may continually choose God over ourselves, our families, our spouses, and our careers. Let us make Him our destiny.
