Project Grace Day 4: The Author of Life

Luke 7:15 NKJV

“He who was dead sat up and began to speak. And [Jesus] presented him to his mother.”

Life is only but a wisp of smoke. One day you feel all healthy as if you can take on the world, and the next thing you know, you are lying in bed breathing your last. You can never be certain when your time on earth will pass, but one thing is clear: Jesus brings new life.

Sometimes things may happen in the most unwanted and unexpected ways. You may lose your spouse to cancer, or your job due to recession, or a friend because of a car accident. Last night, I was greeted with sad news that a friend and batchmate of mine from college died because he drowned in a waterfall somewhere in Initao. I was in total shock.

Death can knock on our doors anytime, but Jesus Christ, the Author of Life and the Perfecter of our faith, is living proof that with God, all things are possible. He can turn your sadness into joy and your heartache into gladness. In His presence, there is unlimited source of comfort that we can draw from. He is our wellspring, our oasis in the middle of Life’s deserts.

I pray that whatever storm you re facing right now, may it be that you make Christ your cornerstone, your lighthouse, your mighty rock on whom you place your utmost trust. Believe His promise: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
