It’s Okay Not To Be Okay

So here you are. You put your makeup on.  You wear skin tight jeans and the latest tops. You hang out with friends and party all night. Almost every night. And the same routine happens every single day. You are so eager to make other people see that you are fine, that you are capable of handling yourself. You are so used to being the independent woman that you are, that people seeing your weaknesses makes you indignant towards yourself.

Hey..  It’s okay not to be okay.

You don’t have to try so hard to keep up with the height of the walls you’ve built around yourself. You don’t have to give everything all away just so they will like you. You have to treat yourself and your life, your whole being as precious. Accept yourself. Accept the fact that you are unique – that your physique is entirely different than anybody else’s, that your emotional and intellectual quotients are by far relatively different than that of your brother or your friend. You are you, and no one can love yourself wholeheartedly than you.

It’s okay to break down. It’s okay to cry over past mistakes.

It’s okay not to be okay.

You can only put up for so long. You are not invincible, and that’s what makes you beautiful. Your flaws and all are like pieces of stained glass,  that once put together, make a colorful and wonderful masterpiece that is you.

Love who you are. Learn from the lessons of past faults. Grow and get understanding from yourself and from others, then you will be able to live a meaningful life. Take on the journey of finding yourself even in the littlest of things. You are worth knowing and loving – but the first person that must know your value is none other than you.

Until then, you will never learn to accept who you are.
